cherry almond and macadamia granola slices
ingredients:
- 1/4 cup blanched almonds
- 1/4 cup blanched macadamia nuts
- 1/3 cup dried cherries
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup quinoa
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 bananas
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 2 tbsp agave nectar
- 1 tbsp almond flakes
directions:
- preheat oven at 180 c.
- prep a loaf tin with greaseproof paper
- rinse the uncooked quinoa
- mash the bananas
- in a large bowl combine oats, quinoa, chia seeds, salt, cinnamon, bananas and vanilla extract.
- fold in the almonds, macadamia nuts and cherries.
- place the almond butter and agave nectar in a pan over a low heat. melt and combine almond butter and agave nectar.
- stir in the warm almond agave nectar into the rest of the ingredients that are already combined.
- place the mixture into a loaf tin using a fork flatten and press into the corners.
- sprinkle the almond flakes over the top and press down into the surface.
- place in the ovens for 25 minutes.
- remove from the oven and place on the cooling rack for 10 minutes
- remove from loaf tin and cut into inch wide granola slices.
- enjoy with a cup of fresh mint.
